Craft Consortium, Ink Drops, Christmas Box

I've stepped way out of my colour palette 'comfort zone' today to bring you a design that has, at its base, the most beautiful of new papers from Craft Consortium...

Simply entitled 'Ink Drops', these papers come in their usual 6x6 or 12x12 format and are available in two colour tones - Vivid and Dusk.

My design here today takes two papers from the Dusk/Ink Drop collection and pairs them alongside some Metal Textures paper elements, plus a deer that's actually from the Vintage Emporium collection (I've used a white acrylic paint whitewash to mute the colour so that only a hint of the text comes through)...  all on the pinkest of pink shiny boxes!

If you haven't had a chance to view the new Ink Drops papers I wholeheartedly suggest you head on over for a quick look here.

They really are very pretty indeed!

Hope you are keeping safe and well.

I'm in my usual 'I hate Winter' mode!

Craft Consortium, At Home In The Wildflowers, 'Digging In The Garden' Decorated Box

If there is one thing I know about blackbirds it is that they like to dig...

...  and digging makes a mess!

So here's a decorated gift box that embraces the very nature of all things 'Blackbird'!

I've also used Craft Consortium's 'Always and Forever Non Shedding A4 Glitter Card - Silver' for the butterflies, but that is currently out of stock so no link for that right now.

Craft Consortium, At Home In The Wildflowers, Repurposed Box - Decorated

It seemed such a shame to throw away a perfectly good box...

You know the type I mean, don't you?
Good size, strong, sturdy, durable...

In short the type that just cries out to a crafter for a 'make over'!

So that's exactly what I did...

I've combined the two 'newest arrivals' that Craft Consortium has recently launched, gluing layers of dies together to add depth and dimension...

...  added a spot of paper weaving...

...  and some fussy cutting...

...  and combined it all with some sparkly metallic ribbon and lace...

There's even the odd paint splatter if you look closely!

Craft Consortium, The Riverbank, ATC Box

Do you know what an ATC is?

It's an Artists Trading Coin.

I've seen them being made for a while now and decided that I want to play along, too...  but first I need a box to keep them safe in!

So I made one...

I'm planning to add extra charms to mine so that the weight keeps the lid down, but for this photo I thought it best to show you just one dragonfly charm so that you can see it properly.

Here's a list of the Craft Consortium supplies used...

Craft Consortium, Junk Box, Mixed Media

Every crafter has a 'hotchpotch' collection of odds and ends from previous projects, don't they?

So what better way to use some of them up than to create a Junk Box?
(Well, it is made up of unwanted leftovers, so what else should I call it)?!

Here it is.

It's not as bad as it sounds...  honest!

The biggest challenge was how to make that green twine work for me.  I've got three rolls of the stuff so figured I had to do something to make a start on using them up!

And yes, I freely admit I just added the sequins as I also have more of them than I know what to do with.

But sometimes a girl just has to have a bit of fun when creating, don't you think?

*

On the upside, it is actually a box you can open...  so you could always use it as a gift box if nothing else.

Feeling inspired to make your own Junk Box?

Here's a link to the Craft Consortium Paper Pad that I used to decorate it with...
(Mixed Media products used include dry brushed Gesso, Gilding Wax and Texture Paste).
