Happy Little Stampers, ATC Challenge, Bling

This is my last post for a while as I'm moving!

Not only to a new house, but to a whole new town and a whole new way of life...

The house is a renovation project so we'll be busy for a while, but my priority will be getting my craft room up and running smoothly just as soon as I can.

It's just that it's going to take a long, long while!

*

My post for today shows a theme I'm less than comfortable with...  'Bling' just really isn't me at all!
So I've opted for a subtle style of bling that still heavily relies on lots of shimmer and shine.

A fair compromise in my book!

Do head on over to Kylie's blog and click on her challenge pages.

ATC's are just one of her many, many  challenge options...
so you are sure to find at least one you enjoy!

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by today...

If you saw yesterday's post you will know that I made a mini storage crate using the new
'The Emporium' release (sold by Craft Consortium).

This is Part 2 of that project...    3 ATC coins that fit inside with plenty of room to spare!

Here's a close up of each coin in turn...

...  plus a look at Part 1 (the storage crate) if you missed it yesterday!

Craft Consortium, The Emporium, Mini Storage Crate

The Emporium (by Craft Consortium) boasts a bountiful collection of beautiful papers and very large wooden bugs, as well as two clear stamp sets, 3 washi tapes, large metal beetle charms and coordinating enamel dots.

I've managed to use a little bit of everything on this 'two part' project.

Here's Part 1...

...  and below includes a sneaky peak of Part 2 that I'll share with you tomorrow!

This mini storage crate would be perfect for storing your washi tapes in, too!

Head on over to Craft Consortium or click HERE to see the full range for yourself.

Tag You're It, 25 Days of Christmas, Guest Designer Post

Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags is in its final week.

Have you had a chance to play along?

I'm Guest Designing for today using this pretty 'Morning Bird' die from BirchPress Designs, who are today's sponsors.

I've used half the bird die, layered it up and then inked using Holtz 'Hickory Smoke' before adding some touches of Silver gilding wax.

Foliage stamps and sentiment are by Memory Box (Sister company to BirchPress).

Some ink splattering, red enamel dots and touches of Texture Paste for snow complete this simple tag.

(Embossing Folder from my own personal stash).

Head on over (using the link above) for your chance to join in...

Craft Consortium, Over The Hedge, 'Flip Style' Notebook

I'm ignoring the fact that it is cold, wet and horrible outside!

After all, Spring will be back soon...

(Just not soon enough)!!!

Here's my take on an old Sizzix die by Eileen Hull that's been treated to some gorgeous papers and ephemera (sold by Craft Consortium).

Thanks for stopping by...

As you can see, I've made a 'flip style' notebook.

Here's a close up of the front cover...

...  and a close up on some of the inside detail...

...  and one final photo that shows a purely decorative edge binding.

The supplies used are all designed by Melissa Lowry in conjunction with Craft Consortium.

Happy Little Stampers, ATC Challenge, Die Cuts

I'm over on the Happy Little Stampers challenge blog today with an ATC Coin that's jam packed full of layers and texture.

Here's how it was made...

Using the Tim Holtz CLOCKWORK stencil, add WHITE Texture Paste and leave to dry.

Then daub on Holtz Distress Inks in WALNUT STAIN and GROUND EXPRESSO.

Once dry, add some water splashes to tone down the ink a little...  and leave to dry (again) before gently adding the tiniest amount of WHITE acrylic paint.
(Use the dry paint brush/stipple technique).

Cut a scrap of SILVER ribbon to size and attach as shown, (note the angled edge), then add a second piece of ribbon with a contrasting texture.  Fray the edges if desired.

Then take the largest of the dies from the Penny Black HEART CHARM set, cut out three and glue them together.

Once dry, paint with RED acrylic ink...  and once dry (yet again!) smear across a JET BLACK Stazon ink pad - going from top left to bottom right.

Add CLEAR embossing ink in exactly the same way, then Heat Set using CLEAR embossing powder.

Repeat the CLEAR embossing ink/Heat Set TWICE more, going top left to bottom right once again for the second layer...   but reversing top right to bottom left for the third.

Then add some string and glue both the Heart and the edges of the string in place as shown.

Cut out TWO smaller hearts in WHITE and spray with SILVER glitter varnish before attaching to the coin base.

Then write the word LOVE on to a scrap of the same WHITE card, cut to size and distress the edges carefully using the blade on a pair of scissors.

Spray with varnish and glue in to position.

Now comes the fun part for me as it's all looking far to neat and tidy..!

Using your finger, add on some SILVER PÄ“bÄ“o Gilding Wax, then (using the dry brush/stipple technique again) gently add a small amount of BLACK acrylic paint.

Do the same with a different dry brush, only this time daub on WHITE acrylic paint with a 'heavier hand' so that it's clearly more visible.

Attach two contrasting small gems...  and you are finished!

Craft Consortium, Over The Hedge, 'Swatch Style' Notebook

Notebooks come in all shapes and sizes, so why not create a 'swatch style' version using every paper available from the Craft Consortium 'Over The Hedge' collection..?

That way you'll never forget which paper pad you are looking for when searching for a particular pattern!
(Label the back so you don't forget)!

Here's mine...  just to give you an idea of what I mean...

I'm not going to show you each and every single page.

Just a few so you can see what I've done!

...  and don't worry.  That big rectangle on the left isn't upside down.  I've just twisted the tag on itself to take the photo!

Do you like this idea?

I know that some people find it difficult to cut into their paper pads and was thinking that perhaps if they made something like this they would always have a keepsake from it?

Craft Consortium, Over The Hedge, Notepad And Pen Set.

I have the simplest of gift ideas to share with you today...

All you need is a kraft covered notebook and a cardboard pen.

I've used my favourite paper from the 'Over The Hedge' premium paper pad.
Do you have a favourite page?

Simply tear top and bottom, brush on a thin layer of wet glue and weight it down until it is dry...

If you have the time, why not add to this basic idea?

The 'Over The Hedge' collection also includes toppers, stamps and wooden printed embellishments so you are sure to find something to add if you want to...

You could even make an organiser for it to go in?

(See previous project HERE).

Want to see the other designs available in this paper pad?

Click HERE for a few more samples.

Sold by Craft Consortium...   and all good craft shops!

Enjoy your day...

Tag You're It, Fall Leaves

It's time for another Tag You're It challenge to begin...

This one's all about Autumn leaves.

I've gone with Brusho's as my medium of choice as they sure do 'pack a punch' when it comes to adding colour.

This tag has been built up on an acetate base layer using Tim Holtz's Crackle Medium.

Here's the inspiration photo...

Happy Little Stampers, ATC Challenge, Anything Goes With A Set Of Three

It's 'Anything Goes With A Set Of Three' over on the Happy Little Stampers ATC challenge today...

Here's a close up of each coin...

*

You'll need two coins for this project.  (The top layer has been cut from cereal box card and the bottom layer from Silver 'Mirri' Card).

With a piece of sand paper, gently scratch away some of the top layer on the Mirri card using a back and forth motion.
(That's the bottom layer finished)!

Apply White Gesso to the cereal box layer and leave to dry.

Then cut out the Sizzix Thinlits Circle Words (Tim Holtz).

Stamp the left foliage image using Memento 'Olive Grove'.
Once dry, stamp over again using Ranger 'Perfect Medium'.
Then add Clear Embossing Powder, heat set and leave to cool.

Stamp right foliage image using Holtz/Distress 'Forest Moss'.

Then add snow spots using Holtz/Distress 'Weathered Wood'.

Using a Memento 'Tuxedo Black' marker, add "strings" for the bauble to hang by before gluing down the top of the bauble itself.

Now glue the two layers together and spray using Glitter Varnish.

Add some die cut snowflakes...  then print off the text.

Cut text to size, distress edges and then add Holtz/Disress 'Dusty Concord', 'Seedless Preserves' and 'Hickory Smoke' around the edges.

Spray with varnish to seal the ink, then glue into place as shown.

Add white acrylic paint to the edges.

Craft Consortium, Over The Hedge, CAS Card Trio

I'm back today sharing the cards I made to go in the Card Organiser I posted online earlier this week...

As you can see, these are very simple to make!

One design concept.
Three different looks.
All CAS to some degree or other.

But hopefully a nice way to introduce the 'Over The Hedge' characters to you if you haven't seen them already!

Which is your favourite...  Olivia, Harry or Henry?

*

These little cuties are all toppers you can find on the inner cover of the 12x12 paper pad.

But don't forget, Craft Consortium also have them available as printed wooden characters or as clear stamps.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Craft Consortium, Over The Hedge, Card Organiser

I've created a cute little hedgehog Card Organiser to share with you today, using the new
Over The Hedge goodies that Craft Consortium have added to their store...

I've used a mix of toppers from the paper pad, those gorgeous wooden printed animal embellishments, some of the clear stamps from the three (yes, three) stamp sets that make up part of this new product line, a few odds and ends from other product ranges that Craft Consortium sell, some die cut shapes from my personal stash, a few hand drawn spiders...  and some inked over Texture Paste to create a mini path!

This is Part 1 of a two part post...  the second half of which I'll include later in the week so that you can get a better look at those distressed cards!
