Craft Consortium, Over The Hedge, Card Organiser

I've created a cute little hedgehog Card Organiser to share with you today, using the new 

Over The Hedge goodies that Craft Consortium have added to their store...

I've used a mix of toppers from the paper pad, those gorgeous wooden printed animal embellishments, some of the clear stamps from the three (yes, three) stamp sets that make up part of this new product line, a few odds and ends from other product ranges that Craft Consortium sell, some die cut shapes from my personal stash, a few hand drawn spiders...  and some inked over Texture Paste to create a mini path!

This is Part 1 of a two part post...  the second half of which I'll include later in the week so that you can get a better look at those distressed cards!

Craft Consortium, Over The Hedge, My Foxy Friend

'Over The Hedge' is the super cute latest release that Craft Consortium have to bring you.

I've used a mix of papers and printed wooden character pieces for my framed scene project today...  along with an 'upcycled' Babybel mini cheese net and some hand drawn 'extras'!

The distressed frame was super easy to make...  just use the 'To My Foxy Friend' stamp and stamp all over randomly using a clear ink pad, then add white embossing powder and use a heat tool to set.

If you look closely you may spot the word 'foxy' added after in a metallic bronze colour, too...  plus a touch of Pēbēo Silver gilding wax!

I've used foam pads to add height to this project...  and Stickles glitter glue, too!

I've also used Tonic Jewel Nuvo Drops in 'Grey Mist' to add dimension to those white flowers.

Tag You're It, Buttons

It's time for another theme over at the TagYou'reIt challenge blog...

and today's my turn to choose!

I've chosen a very subtle colour palette for my tag...







Using some scraps of decoupage paper, I've adhered them to white painted cardboard and then cut them out using some mini craft dies.


Spray on some varnish with a glitter finish and then sand down slightly to create a distressed look.




The tag itself has two layers...

Underneath is a simple Distress Oxide layer (Hickory Smoke) that's had water splashes added.


On top I've simply used a die that has some stitching and holes in it, then glued on the flowers.


Another light spray of varnish, then add some doodled on flower stems and leaves and distress the edges a little.



One final touch is to add the button - which just so happens to be the challenge theme!

Happy Little Stampers, ATC Challenge, Ocean/Sea

It's time for a new ATC challenge over at Happy Little Stampers, with a theme this time of 

Ocean or Sea.

I've chosen to make a double layered ATC coin...  and yes, it is another Mixed Media piece!

Want to know how it was made?

Start by cutting out two coin shapes from kraft card.

Add Brusho (Grey) to the one layer and leave to one side to dry.

Cut out two dolphins from the other layer, then cover roughly in PVA glue to build up some texture before adding a layer of White Gesso (Stipple on - not brush strokes).

Mix in a few drops of Stormy Sky Distress Ink (Tim Holtz) to a little more White Gesso and stipple that randomly to your top layer.   Once dry, simply use a piece of sand paper to distress the coin in a few places around the edges.  

Using Ranger Archival (Shadow Grey), stamp on a few 'Bubbles'.  (I used a snow effect stamp for this).

Glue the two layers together.

Then add your die cut shapes...

...  and one sequin as shown!

Craft Consortium, It's Snome Time, Christmas Organiser

If you have seen the 'It's Snome Time' range that Craft Consortium has just released you will know it has heaps to choose from!

...  And heaps of stuff means heaps of cards and tags, right?

Here's my idea on how to get organised.  

It could even be given as a gift in itself? 

Do you like my idea of a Christmas Organiser? 

It even has elastic string attached so that nothing can fall out!

 Remove the straps (they slide behind).

Open it up...

...  And you'll see a handy paperclip, plus three charms and some string to tie up your parcels!

Some 'quick to make' card ideas that you can add bling to or leave just as they are...
