Large Tag, We Do Not Remember Days, Female

I have a very simple CAS tag to show you today.  After all, it IS a Friday...

Time for another challenge at Tag You're It!

When I initially made this tag I chose muted colours as I thought that it would end up as a Sympathy or Thinking of You card - if added to a card front obviously!
But now that it's finished I think it works as a Wedding or Happy Anniversary tag!!!

Is there something very wrong with me that my brain can think that?  I mean, some of the happiest AND some of the saddest moments in a person's life BOTH being suited to this design?
Which would you use it for?  Either?  Neither?  Both?

Anyhow...  I've based my design on this tag, which comes to you courtesy of my fellow DT mate, Carol Mayne...

I've kept faithfully to her design brief...  Stencilled background, graduated inking, sentiment stamp and flying insect - except that I've chosen to add all of my elements to a tag, swapped out the dragonfly for a butterfly, snuck in two tiny butterflies as additional 'embellishments' and added my graduated inking to a flower stem.

As Carol didn't use any sequins or gems, etc I didn't either... but if I was making this again I think I would be tempted to try adding some in place of the tiny butterflies...   some clear Morning Dew drops maybe?
That's the joy of designing for me.  How even the smallest of changes can make such a big difference..  and you don't know until you try.

I would have linked this to the playground but Mr Linky's not playing ball again!
Perhaps he prefers a different playground game?
      Have a good weekend. X

Sentiments with real meaning are not that easy to find... at least not in my experience! So I'm always on the look out for more to add to my collection.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such kind words...

  11. This is breathtaking, Donna! I can't stop staring at it! I have that stamp and often struggle with how best to use it. Not the why (I think it fits both situations) but the design around it, so I really appreciate this incredible inspiration! I'm pinning this one!! Enjoy your day! Hugs, Darnell

This stamp has only been in my possession for a few weeks... another new stamp found on eBay!
It's rare for me to play with my new toys quite so quickly... they normally get put away for far too long...
Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

  12. Donna, I love every facet of your tag, from the delicate butterflies, to the stenciled birch trees to the wildflower die cut. A perfect combination for a sentiment that has the warmth and 'realness' to fit occasions of joy and sadness. Weddings, anniversaries, losses: it is the moments we remember. Another 'organic' beauty that has me, again, expressing awe at your talents! The 'way your mind works' is wonderfully fresh and inspiring!
    Hugs~c
PS: I hope the 'rough times' you're experiencing will transform into smoother roads very soon! Extra hugs coming your way...

  19. AMAZING design Donna. LOVE each and every element. I probably would use this on a sympathy card. But like you said, the sentiment can mean a lot of different things to different people. LOVE the muted colours and softness of the design. xx

    1. Hello, Loll :)
Hope you are having a good start to your week...
I think I've settled back on making this into a sympathy card at some point. It'll have to go on a back burner for now though as I've been asked to make three baby cards. Why is it that on the rare occasions I'm asked to specifically make something it always feels out of my comfort zone? I know why... The pressure of not meeting their expectations! Oh well... out of my comfort zone I go!!!
