Craft Consortium, At Home In The Wildflowers, 'Digging In The Garden' Decorated Box

If there is one thing I know about blackbirds it is that they like to dig...

...  and digging makes a mess!

So here's a decorated gift box that embraces the very nature of all things 'Blackbird'!

I've also used Craft Consortium's 'Always and Forever Non Shedding A4 Glitter Card - Silver' for the butterflies, but that is currently out of stock so no link for that right now.

Craft Consortium, At Home In The Wildflowers, String in a Jar

The simplest of ideas are sometimes all we really have time for...

But that doesn't mean they can't be pretty!

So I'm stopping by with a quick post today that uses a much loved new release from Craft Consortium called
'At Home In The Wildflowers'.

Simply remove any existing labels and decorate with a strip of beautiful paper and a topper to match!

Here's a before photo using the same style jar and different string...

I hope the idea proves useful!

Craft Consortium, At Home In The Wildflowers, Rainy Days Garden Blackbird

If you look to the left hand side of your At Home In The Wildflowers 12x12 paper pad you will see this little guy on the front cover...

I've used him for today's Craft Consortium project!

After cutting the front cover to size I cut around the blackbird's wing as shown - adding a few layers of glued scrap card underneath to add depth and dimension...

(The photo above shows this from a different angle so you can see it's been mounted to a piece of black card (see underneath the wing).

Then I made and decorated an embossed frame...

Added a few flowers (also from the front cover)...

...  and liberally added some 'rain' (courtesy of Ranger 'Glossy Accents').

We actually have a 'resident Mr Blackbird' who frequents our garden several times a day.
It rained the entire week here last week and I got to watch him getting wet in the garden - hence the inspiration!

Craft Consortium, At Home In The Wildflowers, Repurposed Box - Decorated

It seemed such a shame to throw away a perfectly good box...

You know the type I mean, don't you?
Good size, strong, sturdy, durable...

In short the type that just cries out to a crafter for a 'make over'!

So that's exactly what I did...

I've combined the two 'newest arrivals' that Craft Consortium has recently launched, gluing layers of dies together to add depth and dimension...

...  added a spot of paper weaving...

...  and some fussy cutting...

...  and combined it all with some sparkly metallic ribbon and lace...

There's even the odd paint splatter if you look closely!

Craft Consortium, At Home In The Wildflowers, Hanging Bird House

At Home In The Wildflowers is here!

A beautiful new release by the talented Katie Putt...

There are generously sized extra toppers that you'll find inside both the front and back covers as well as gorgeous floral elements on the papers themselves...

You'll find three blackbird toppers to help showcase your designs...   and he features on some of the pages, too!

This new release works so well with the Essential Craft Papers - Wood Textures...

Want to see more?

Then tune in today to Create & Craft TV at 3.45pm (GMT).
