'Strength', Weathered Clock, Female

I know that some of you are going through really difficult times right now.  I guess that's the thing about blog posts...  'life' spills into them from time to time, enabling us (the readers) to catch small privileged glimpses that you choose to share with us.

So with that in mind I made this card...

I wanted it to be more than a 'sympathy' card or a straightforward 'thinking of you' card..  so I came up with a design that has a symbolic message...  and one simple word.

Inks used:
Tim Holtz Distress Ink 'Peeled Paint'
Tim Holtz Distress Ink 'Walnut Stain'
Tim Holtz Distress Ink 'Antique Linen'
Memento (Tsukineko) 'Love Letter'
Memento (Tsukineko) 'Tuxedo Black'

Stencil used:
Memory Box 'Leafy Stems'

Die used:
Sizzix Bigz Die 'Weatherd Clock'

Stamps used:
IndigoBlu 'Flutterby' Dinkie Cling Stamp
Inkadinkado 'Belle Fleur' Wooden Backed Rubber Stamp

Other:
Ranger 'Crackle Accents'

Challenges I'm entering...

(Butterflies + 'N' is for Numbers/#41)

(The patterned paper is from my 'snippets' collection...  and the butterfly and flowers were both stamped onto 'snippets' of white card)

(Anything Goes)

(Challenge #270 'Anything Goes')

(Challenge #99 'Off the Edge')

(Challenge #197 'Die Cuts and/or Punches)

Sometimes being 'strong' is as simple...  and yet as difficult as continuing to put one foot in front of the other.

Take care...

Donna.

  1. Really beautiful card Donna - and Hope is such a lovely word. Without it I think we should all shut up shop and go home really. Tons of gorgeous detail in your card - perfect!

Spotted your comment about the Centura White Pearl card, I got my latest lot of 'Fresh White' from eBay. Decent price I thought - with postage it worked out at 40p a sheet (might be cheaper with a bigger order), arrived quickly and also well packaged. 2. Ooops, I only spotted the Hope on the Scrabbleand not the Strength on the card itself - working on a baby laptop right now and not picking up as much as I should! :) Makes the card even lovelier Donna.

    1. No need to 'ooops'...
I was originally going to have the word 'hope' on my card, but the style and font didn't work for me so I went with 'strength' instead.
It's all part and parcel of the same 'message' really... and we all need them both from time to time :)

      Glad you like the card.
I have no craft room or craft corner... I craft from the bedroom and have supplies crammed into my cupboard and under the bed!!!
I did buy a folding table that's permanently out, too... and needs a huge tidy!
So my name came from trying to figure out how to make more 'room in my cupboard' for my craft goodies!

Have to admit I went on quite a cathartic rampage with this one... then sensibly deleted it all. Too much personal information can scare people, me thinks!!!
