Craft Consortium 'Wildflower Meadow' Card, Hello, Shrew

On or two of you may remember a huge 8x8 'Hello' card that I made quite recently...

Today's card uses the negative space from that card and is another way to use up some of those offcuts of pretty papers you may have lying around...

I've scored the kraft card into four sections, slightly distressed and inked some of the edges and varied my stamping strength/the number of times I've reapplied ink to give some variation to the stamped edges on this card.

Craft Consortium 'Wildflower Meadow' Card, 8x8, Hello

As most of you know, I'm happiest cutting into my cards to create apertures...  or adding quirky angles that poke off the edges...  or distressing my edges and tearing into my card for that 'tatty/shabby chic' look.

I guess one out of four isn't so bad!

But I figured that perhaps not everyone likes to add apertures or feels that confident in doing so sometimes...  so today's make that I'm showing was an experiment in taking my 'cut out' apertures idea but doing so in reverse.

So instead of cutting out I am building up - with layers.

And I'm adding texture differently today, too.  With selective embossing and lace.

Oh...  and in case I forget to mention it later, when you see the stamped 'Hello' (below) please bear in mind that this was cut from a rectangular piece of stamped card that will feature in a future blog post.
(I'm a minimal 'craft waste' girl, I'll have you know.  And if stamping this way gives me enough for the basis of two cards then I'm a very happy bunny indeed)!

So here it is, my 8x8 experiment...

For those of you who haven't been online lately,  this is the brand new 'Wildflower Meadow' collection from Craft Consortium

As you can see, it's an incredibly beautiful new collection, so it should come as no surprise to you that it's currently sold out.

But never fear, it will be back in stock on the 25th April at 8am (GMT) on Create and Craft TV.

Flowers On Wall, Double Tag, Hello

Some of you know that I'm the parent of a teen with High Functioning Autism.  What most of you don't know is that on 5th January, 2016, she set into motion a chain of events that have had catastrophic consequences.

I have no intention of explaining it all now.  Truth be told I may never know the reasons why she did what she did.  But I will try and explain after Christmas as best I can.

All I can tell you for now is that she once asked, early on, if I was ok...  and was told I was finding it difficult, but understood...
That second part's not true.  I will never understand.

I'm telling you this because I'm struggling right now and these next few months will be very difficult.  So please bear with me.  I'm behind on commenting on your blogs, Facebook, Instagram...  but I haven't forgotten any of you that I normally stop by and leave some love to.

I'll catch up as and when I can...  X

It's Tag You're It Friday time again, and I've gone for a style that reminds me more of one of my fellow Team Mates than it does me.  Can you guess which one?
I'll give you a clue.  Imagine my tag with more!

(I should probably show you my tag now.  You can't guess if you can't see it..!)

Here's one that's a little closer...

...  and one that shows the whole photo layout.

I do love photo props.  Can you tell?

Our inspiration for this challenge comes from this very beautifully made tag...

I was tempted to do likewise and dig out a cake stamp for some pretty flowers to cascade all over...  but then I got the idea of flowers cascading down a wall instead.

I have snuck in an extra colour (purple), but other than that my colour scheme, flower placements, sparkly glitter tag and sequins have all been faithfully copied from Rubenna's tag...  they just aren't necessarily copied 'like for like'.
