Craft Consortium 'Wildflower Meadow' Treat Box - With Sequins

I have a simple little treat box idea to share with you today that uses an old style Quickutz/Lifestyle crafts die called 'Treat Box' in conjunction with the cardboard from the cover of the Wildflower Meadow Collection - Premium Paper Pad.

It's also a great way to gift some sequins (also part of the collection).

Simply split a bag into two, three or even four of those small resealable bags that you can buy (depends on the size of your treat box), place it inside at the front to seal the aperture...  with maybe a small chocolate treat behind (?) and 'hey presto'...

I've decorated mine with a stamped, painted and varnished image and added a few charms, too!

The sides of the box have also been decorated, using one of the designs from the premium paper pad collection along with toppers, rhinestones...

...  and even a sequin!

Here's the list of supplies used...

Craft Consortium 'Wildflower Meadow' Card, Hello, Shrew

On or two of you may remember a huge 8x8 'Hello' card that I made quite recently...

Today's card uses the negative space from that card and is another way to use up some of those offcuts of pretty papers you may have lying around...

I've scored the kraft card into four sections, slightly distressed and inked some of the edges and varied my stamping strength/the number of times I've reapplied ink to give some variation to the stamped edges on this card.

As ever, if you have any questions about how this was made all you have to do is ask...

Craft Consortium 'Wildflower Meadow' Decoupage Card

I've mixed decoupage papers with cardboard toppers from the inside of the 'Wildflower Meadow' paper pad packaging and combined them with stamped, water coloured and varnished images for todays card.

Rather than glue the decoupage papers into place I've simply secured them from the back.

And I've used foam squares to add extra height to the dragonfly and grasshopper.

I wonder...  Is it easy to spot the three images I've stamped, cut and varnished?

I think it is, but just in case you're not completely sure it's the dragonfly, grasshopper and white flower that's in amongst the bunch at the top.

Let me give you a run down of the supplies I used...

All of this (and more) is available from Craft Consortium.

Craft Consortium 'Wildflower Meadow', Stamped Image, Photo Frame

I wanted to create a simple colour wash effect on this pretty little flower...

I thought long and hard about whether or not I should add a colour wash background, or add some paint splatters...  but in the end I decided that I wanted the beauty of this simple little stamped image to be the focus.

So simple it is...

Can you see that I added dimension to the butterfly just by gluing at the centre?

This stamped image is part of a collection of stamps from the Wildflower Meadow range.

There are two other stamp sets available, as well as the most gorgeous of paper pad sets and coordinating sequins.

Why not stop by Craft Consortium and see for yourself?

Craft Consortium 'Wildflower Meadow' Card, Happy Birthday, Shrew

It pays to be a frugal crafter when it comes to saving scraps of paper, doesn't it?

After all, if you save the pennies 'here' you can spend them 'there'...

But do you ever look at your tiny scraps collection and wonder just what on earth you are going to do with them all?

If the answer is 'yes', maybe this idea will help...

As you can see, it's a quick and easy make...

One topper, four same sized rectangles cut out from one design, one slightly larger rectangle cut from another, a sentiment, twine and sequins - all backed on to an embossed piece of kraft card cut slightly smaller than the card base with just a hint of ink around the edges.

It doesn't get much easier than that!

Craft Consortium 'Wildflower Meadow' Library Tag...

The thing I love most about 'library style' or 'pocket style' tags is the scope they give to add layers.

I count six different paper designs on the project I have to show you today - plus toppers, lace, twine, a charm, sequins...  and yet somehow it doesn't look cluttered at all.

The vast majority of this design shows Craft Consortium's newest addition to their ever growing range in partnership with Hackney & Co.

It's name?

Wildflower Meadow.

And it's a truly wonderful, beautifully exquisite collection to work with.

Let me show you today's project...

For those of you that missed my last post, I will reiterate again that this collection has sold out.

But it will be back on Create & Craft TV,  8am (GMT) this coming Wednesday, 25th April.

I can't wait to see what you might make with this paper range for yourselves...

Craft Consortium 'Wildflower Meadow' Card, 8x8, Hello

As most of you know, I'm happiest cutting into my cards to create apertures...  or adding quirky angles that poke off the edges...  or distressing my edges and tearing into my card for that 'tatty/shabby chic' look.

I guess one out of four isn't so bad!

But I figured that perhaps not everyone likes to add apertures or feels that confident in doing so sometimes...  so today's make that I'm showing was an experiment in taking my 'cut out' apertures idea but doing so in reverse.

So instead of cutting out I am building up - with layers.

And I'm adding texture differently today, too.  With selective embossing and lace.

Oh...  and in case I forget to mention it later, when you see the stamped 'Hello' (below) please bear in mind that this was cut from a rectangular piece of stamped card that will feature in a future blog post.
(I'm a minimal 'craft waste' girl, I'll have you know.  And if stamping this way gives me enough for the basis of two cards then I'm a very happy bunny indeed)!

So here it is, my 8x8 experiment...

For those of you who haven't been online lately,  this is the brand new 'Wildflower Meadow' collection from Craft Consortium.

As you can see, it's an incredibly beautiful new collection, so it should come as no surprise to you that it's currently sold out.

But never fear, it will be back in stock on the 25th April at 8am (GMT) on Create and Craft TV.

Craft Consortium 'Take Me With You' Travel Cases

If you know anything at all about Craft Consortium, you will know that the products they have to offer you are simply exquisite.

So much so in fact, that I happen to know of crafters who refuse to cut into the paper pads that they buy from this store!

But have no fear, because that's where I (and my lovely band of team mates) come in.
We will cut and chop and glue and stick and (you get the idea..?) 'til our little hearts are as content as can be.

So what's the name of this new release, I hear you ask?

Wildflower Meadow.

And if you tune in to Create & Craft on the 7th April, 2018 at 1pm (UK time) you'll get to see the official launch for yourselves.

For those of you who cannot tune in, I have a 'Take Me With You' Travel Case set that focuses on some of the papers and toppers that this new release has to offer.

It also comes with three clear stamp sets (none shown here today, but stay tuned as I will be sharing more ideas with you over the coming weeks) and a sequin collection that you'll catch a glimpse of in a few of the photo's below...

I do hope that I have managed to whet your appetite enough that you'll tune in to the show if you can.

Did you know that Craft Consortium now has a FB page especially for you to show us your makes?

'Bye for now...
